You are bidding on a large, very rare original antique print from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a beautiful Barbet (French Water Dog, Griffon d’Arret à Poil
Laineux). It is very rare to find an early barbet print.
The caption reads:  Le chien d'arret griffon.
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area is about 8.4 x 5.4 inches, with a French caption below and text surrounding it. The text could easily be trimmed before framing.
The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is a very soft fold in the middle of the print which should flatten with time.
There is text/photos on the back of the print.
