    Description

    This beautiful pin is sterling silver with a purple banded agate stone. It is marked "Mexico" and "925 TL-92." By this we know it is sterling silver, that it was made in Taxco, and that the maker is the 92nd silversmith in Taxco with a surname that starts with an L.
    This pin/brooch is 1.5 inches across. It weighs 21 grams (3/4 of an ounce).
    The stone is agate. It is purple with white bands. Most likely it is dyed though the color is very natural. I say this because natural purple banded agate is very rare and most of the available product out there is dyed.
    There is a tiny blemish on the edge of the stone which is not a chip just a dip in the stone. See photo. The workmanship is excellent. A really special vintage piece of Mexican silver.
